Lauren & Austin

Remember the super awesome photo from this summer with the tandam bike and the pink balloons?  Well, they’re married!  I love it when a couple’s story comes full circle.  Lauren and Austin met when they were much younger but didn’t begin dating until much later.  They quickly fell in love and now they are husband and wife!  We talk a lot about the emotions of your wedding day and how they show through in every photo that we capture.  Well these two are love each other and they love life and it shows!  They come from the sweetest families you could ever ask to be around and we enjoyed every minute of working with them!  Their wedding was at Second Baptist Church and the reception was at Rockefeller Hall.  Congratulations Lauren & Austin!  We hope you have as big a blast in your marriage as you did at your wedding!

Rock and Roll

We met Angela at the Houston Wedding Showcase last month and I knew from our first conversation that I wanted to shoot her wedding.  Wedding photography is totally subjective and couples really have to look for a photographer that fits their style.  Likewise, it is important to us to seek out couples that fit our style and make our job fun!  Angela and Kevin definitely made our job fun last weekend.   Their reception will be at the House of Blues downtown so we were able to do their engagement photos there and it was one of the coolest venues we have shot in Houston.  They even let us shoot down in the foundation room.  When we walked in, Angela saw us react to how cool the room was and said, “see, fun for us and fun for you!”  I couldn’t agree more!  We are really looking forward to this wedding in the spring!

a to z

someone asked us recently what our favorite thing to shoot was and i really had to think about the answer.  i really wanted to say that i love everything that we do becasue that is the honest truth but that sounds like a fake answer so when push came to shove, and i had to pick one favorite type of shoot, it was engagements.  i love meeting a couple out at one of their favorite places and hanging out for an hour or two while we shoot some photos.  there is no stress, the couple looks cute, they are totally in to one another, and you really get to see their personalities come out.  it is just fun!  angie and zach were the epitome of that.  they used to live downtown so discovery green is one of their favorite spots.  they chose great colors and angie had her makeup done that afternoon (girls, you will never regret getting your makeup done for a photo shoot!) and they were certainly in love with each other!  at the end of the shoot they changed into their super hero tshirts just to get  fun shot.  apparently zach earned the title captain a for making all a’s in law school.  so fun!  we are looking forward to photographing their wedding next spring!

dance! dance! dance!

i know we say this a lot but we love being photographers in houston!  every wedding is different and the people that we get to work with are awesome!  tellina and jayc are no exception.  they live in california and own afinkao dance company but tellina grew up here so they had the wedding at the courtyard on st. james place.  dance is obviously a big part of their lives and it was a big part of their wedding.  not only did they dance down the isles of their ceremony but they featured many different dancers throughout their reception.  for us, it was kind of like having a front row seat to dancing with the stars!  tellina & jayc, we wish you the best and appreciate the honor of being your wedding photographers!
